Updates on Special Projects:

Christ Birthday Offering

Our congregation resonded generously to the Christ Birthday Offering once again this year. A total of $3474.50 was given for this special offering. Half of these funds will go the the "Apartment Project" in Honduras. When the apartment complex is completed, it will generate funds to help our school in Honduras become more self-supporting. The other half of our Christ Birthday Offering will go to Church of God Ministries, supporting the work of the Church of God around the globe.

The Building Blast Campaign

Members of our congregation have pledged $125,670.44 toward our three-year goal of $325,000. Of that, $55,823.14 has already been given, allowing us to pay off the 'loan' from our congregation's funds that were used for the land contract, down payment and closing costs for the Giles Tire building.

Adult Sunday Morning Classes

Upcoming Adult Sunday Morning Classes begin January 10. All classes meet at 9:45am.

Middle Ground

This Sunday morning class is for those in the middle - those roughly in the 'thirty-something' age bracket (give or take several years!), who wish to connect with one another and grow together. Middle Ground meets in the conference room at His Place.

Parenting in the Pew, Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship
January 10 through February 14

Based on a book by this title by Robbie Castleman, we will consider how to take our children's worship seriously. "Worship," Robbie writes, "is the most important thing you can ever train your child to do." With infectious passion, nitty-gritty advice and a touch of humor she shows how we can help our children (from toddlers to teenagers) enter into worship.

The Five Love Languages
Beginning February 21

This is a continuation of the class from last semester - picking up at Chapter 6 of the Love Languages book. (If you didn't participate in the first portion of the class, you are welcome to join us as we continue reading this book.) While reading about each of the five love languages, you'll understand why you feel the way you do, and you'll acquire indispensable methods for helping your spouse feel loved. The Five Love Languages can breathe life into your marriage.

In The Word

In the Word will meet each Sunday morning in the gymnasium at His Place. In the Word will help us to connect with one another while we connect with God's Word and put it to practice!

Ephesians:
The Believers' Riches in Christ
January 10 through March 14

The book of Ephesians is really a letter written by the apostle Paul and is one of the great "prison epistles" penned during his imprisonment in Rome. The letter focuses on the hope of God's calling, the riches of his inheritance, and the power given to those who believe. What a great, timeless message for today's Christian! You will find hope and blessing in the study of this power packed little letter!

Live ~ Laugh ~ Love
March 21 - May 23

We see this slogan, "Live~Laugh~Love" everywhere as a decoration but how do we get these words off the wall and into our walk? An exploration of I and II Timothy will reveal the answer to this question as we Look for the Lessons, Listen to His voice and Live in response to God's Word

Faith in Action

Faith in Action meets in the Game Room at His Place. "Faith" expresses the intent of this group to send deep roots down into the love of God and "Action" expresses the commitment to live out that love daily in service to others.

Prayer, Finding the Heart's True Home
January 10 through March 14

The title for this class is borrowed from a book by the same name written by Richard Foster. As the title suggests, this class will explore the practice and experience of prayer as the way to truly be 'at home.' This class will seek to follow God's invitation to a deeper, richer life of prayer.

Caring Evangelism
March 21 - May 23

This class, developed by the Stephen Ministry, is designed to help Christians share their faith with others naturally and comfortably. Beginning with a distinctive approach to "evangelizing the evangelist," the course strengthens participants' own relationship with Christ. As participants grow spiritually, they are equipped to share Christ's love in their daily lives by words and actions that others welcome.
