E-Prompter - March 3, 2009
Baptism ClassesThose who wish to follow Christ in baptism will have an opportunity to do so on Palm Sunday, April 5th. Baptism is a joyous and powerful practice that signifies the new life that is ours through Jesus Christ. Our congregation practices what we call "believers baptism" - a baptism by immersion of persons who have believed in Jesus Christ and who wish to testify to the church and to the world that they are following him. In other words, people are baptized because of their own faith, not the decision of their parents or other well-wishers. Any new believer or any Christian who has not yet been baptized is strongly encouraged to make this public profession of faith. If you wish to be baptized on April 5th, you are required to participate in a baptism class. Please choose one of these two sessions: Saturday morning, March 14th, from 10:30 am to noon in room 106 (downstairs, beneath the sanctuary), or Tuesday evening, March 17th, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in room 106. If you plan to be baptized, or if you have questions, please contact the church office or sign up at the Welcome Center. Honduran CoffeeHonduran coffee will be served during the 9:30AM fellowship time at His Place on Sundays. Bags of Honduran coffee will also be available for purchase at that
time. Missions Fund Raising TeamWe are looking for a group of people who would be interested in leading fund-raising for the upcoming mission trips to Honduras and Africa. If you are willing to help in this area, please contact Ron Woolsey or Rachel Messer. ![]() Stephen MinistryStephen Ministry is a Christ centered ministry that seeks to come alongside individuals who are experiencing lose or other difficulties. The purpose of Stephen Ministry is symbolized in its logo which portrays the cross, two individuals and a circle. The individual behind the cross appears to be broken, possibly due to imperfections and uncontrollable situations; the person standing in front of the cross does so because of the healing power and transforming grace of God, through the cross of Christ; the circle represents how we are made whole through the never ending love of Christ.
