Wake Up and Dream! Advent Worship, Beginning This Sunday, November 29

During the season known as 'Advent' (the four Sundays leading up to Christmas, beginning this Sunday, November 29th), the theme for our worship is "Wake Up and Dream!" "Advent" means "arrival." It refers to the first arrival of Jesus, which we celebrate on Christmas day, and it also refers to the second coming of Jesus, to which we look forward in hope, when Christ will return in glory and restore all things to God's intentions. During the four Sundays of Advent, we will pay careful attention to the ways in which the first coming of Jesus Christ compelled his followers to dream of a new day, and how we, too, must be dreamers if we follow in his way.

December 6 - Pastor's Class "Our DNA"

Sunday, December 6th from 2-5:30 PM, Pastor Steve would like to invite everyone who's new to our congregation to "Our DNA, A Class for Newcomers. During this session, we'll discuss what makes us unique as a church, our particular mission and purpose. We'll also talk about the message First Church of God exists to share, how newcomers can get involved, what the church expects of its members and much more. We will enjoy a complimentary meal together during the last hour of the class. If you've been wondering how to get involved at First Church of God, or what makes this church tick, this is the place to begin. 'Our DNA...' will meet in the west room. Please RSVP to the church office by Thursday December 3rd before 3:00 PM.
