Beans for Basics

Hola Church! Well, it's time for a quick update to fill you in on whats been going on with Beans For Basics. If you recall last December a group of 18 of us headed off to Honduras the day after Christmas to spend a week working in the high mountain village of San Isidro. Some of you had the chance to see a presentation about that trip which was put on by our team members a few months ago. As a result of that trip a new Non-Profit Organization was born. The Non-Profit is now a recognized tax exempt charity that carries the 501(c)(3) designation. The charity goes by the name of Beans For Basics and is served by a seven member board of directors from our church family, and all with feet on the ground, hands on experience in Honduras.

We are very excited to announce that we now have a secure ecommerce website which we invite you to take a few minutes to check out. You can find us at www.beansforbasics.org. Keep in mind that BFB would never have become a reality if it hadn't been for the generosity and encouragement of our congregation. You made life changing differences without knowing it. Many of you prayed for that team and many of you also provided financial help which made it possible for those 18 who were led by God to experience life without all the bells and whistles. We are all deeply thankful for the opportunity.

We have great expectations for Beans For Basics and the work that needs to be done in Honduras. Your help is needed to spread the word, please visit our website and if you are willing to endorse it will you pass the web address on to as many as you can? maybe tell them a little bit about BFB in an email. If you will do that for us God will take care of the rest.

Ever wonder...
who is that beautiful family across the aisle?

Now you have the chance to get to know them! September 29-October 3 Olan Mills will photograph and create a Church Family Directory of the Alma First Church of God congregation.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Would your small group, ministry team, or group of friends help out?

Will you volunteer as a liaison between the church and Olan Mills? Minimal work is required for the volunteer coordinator. We also need volunteers to work the sign up table 15 minutes prior to each service during the weeks leading up to the photography dates and volunteers to work as host / hostesses during the time of photography. VOLUNTEER NEEDED
We are in need of a volunteer who is knowledgeable in Power Point which is used during our Sunday Worship Celebration. Please contact the church office.

ACCOUNTANT
We are in need of hiring an accountant to perform the day to day accounting/finance functions and reporting for our Church. Please contact the church office for a complete job description and application. All applications must be received by Friday, July 31st.
