Our Mission & Vision

Alma First Church of God is a congregation of Christians who believe that we are called to join our lives to God’s love for the world. We are convinced that Jesus Christ embodies God’s self-giving love for us (see John 3:16). Our task, therefore, is to bear witness to all that we have seen and heard in him. In order to fulfill our calling to join our lives to God’s love for the world, we embrace a simple leadership structure that encourages the continual emergence of new ministry endeavors, as well as providing support and encouragement to ongoing ministries.

We affirm these priorities for our ministry as a congregation:

• Every Member is a minister. We will respond to God’s call to every believer to be a servant of God in the world.
• Mentoring is a way of life. We will expand mentoring ministries so that our congregation is home to a lively sharing of wisdom and life-skills.
• Christ is formed in us. We will learn and practice the ancient art of spiritual formation so that we may enjoy fellowship with God and growing obedience to Christ.
• We are a community of the Spirit. We will embrace the rich fellowship with one another that the presence of the Holy Spirit makes possible, celebrating the uniqueness of each person and welcoming those who are new.
